Specifically, Volkswagen started producing the 2012 Passat in Chattanooga in May of 2011. So the company has actually managed to produce 50,000 high-quality, mid-size sedans in under one year!

Of course, it shouldn't be assumed that just because Volkswagen has been able to produce so many vehicles, that it in some way affects their final condition. Specifically, Frank Fischer, CEO and Chair of Volkswagen Chattanooga reinforces that quality will always trump quantity by saying, "An incredible amount of care goes into each vehicle we produce in Chattanooga. Producing 50,000 cars at this level of quality is a huge accomplishment for our team."¹
