Nevada Ruling Bodes Well for Volkswagen Temporary Auto Pilot System

Remember last summer when news of the Volkswagen Temporary auto Pilot System broke? For those of you who maybe missed it, let us refresh your memory.  In June 2011, the Germany automaker presented an innovative technology called Temporary Auto Pilot (TAP).

As the name suggests, TAP is essentially a compromise between today's driver assistance technology (i.e., park assist) and fully automated vehicles. Designed to be monitored, rather than actively operated by the driver, TAP-equipped Volkswagen vehicles are said to be capable of driving on the highway at speeds of up to 80 miles per hour.

Volkswagen Lures You with "The Bark Side"

Those who are big Star Wars buffs and dog lovers should continue reading as Volkswagen found a great way to combine the two. There's a new commercial making its way through the internet after Volkswagen premiered it during this year's Super Bowl. The video, officially dubbed "The Bark Side," features a chorus of eleven dogs howling out the "Imperial March" that often denotes Darth Vader's entrance.

The New 2012 Volkswagen Passat Earns a 5-Star Safety Rating

It is no surprise that a Volkswagen vehicle once again earned a five-star safety rating from The National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA). The company just released more 2012 model-year safety ratings at the close of December and among the ones featured is the Volkswagen Passat. Even with the NHTSA's more stringent guidelines, the Passat proved so resilient in front, rollover, and combined side-pole and barrier tests that it earned a perfect five-star composite score.
